Blinds and shades
Blinds are sold as a fifteen minute job and they are, right up until the window is out of square, which in this part of Texas it usually is. Getting them level, and getting them to clear the sill, is where the time goes.
What the job involves
- Windows measured before anything is ordered, if you want that done first
- Inside or outside mount, decided at the window rather than in the shop
- Brackets set level so the slats sit square in the opening
- Cords tied off high on a cleat, which helps but only holds if it is tied back every time. With small children in the house, cordless is the safer buy and I will tell you so
- Old blinds taken down and left out with your trash
What is not included
- Motorised blinds that need a new power supply run to the window
- Second story exterior work
- Ordering the blinds for you. You choose them, I fit them.
What it costs
$140 for the first hour. Two or three windows usually fit in it. A whole house is a half day and is priced at the hourly rate.
