Furniture assembly
The box has been in the dining room for two weeks. There are thirty seven steps and a picture of a small man with an Allen wrench. I read the whole set before I start the first step, which is where most of the trouble gets avoided.
What the job involves
- Assembled properly, in order, with the fixings that came in the bag
- Leveled on your floor, which is never as flat as the showroom
- Bookcases, dressers and anything tall anchored to the wall as standard
- Drawers aligned so they close square
- Cardboard and packaging flattened and taken out to your bin
What is not included
- Missing or broken parts. I can tell you which part to order, but I cannot make one.
- Pieces needing hard wiring for lights
- Anything over about 75 pounds that has to be carried upstairs by one man
What it costs
$140 for the first hour. A bed frame or a bookcase fits inside it. A wardrobe with doors and drawers usually runs closer to two hours.
Examples of this work
- A wardrobe with doors and drawers
- Three flat pack pieces after a move
- A bed frame that arrived in two boxes
Yours not on the list? Text a photograph and I will tell you either way.
