Fence and gate repair
A gate that has dropped an inch will not latch, and a gate that will not latch is how a dog gets out. Plenty of fence trouble comes down to a few pickets, a loose rail and a gate that needs squaring up rather than a whole new fence.
What the job involves
- Cracked, split and missing pickets replaced and matched as closely as the wood allows
- Sagging gates squared, rehung and fitted with an anti sag brace
- Latches and hinges replaced with hardware that will survive a summer here
- Rails re-secured where the nails have worked loose
- Posts reset in concrete where the post itself is still sound
What is not included
- Whole fence replacement. That is a fencing contractor and a bigger crew.
- Fences on a property line you are in disagreement about
- Rotten posts where the concrete has to come out of the ground
What it costs
$140 for the first hour, then $100 an hour. A gate is usually one hour. A run of pickets depends on how many, and I will tell you the number before I start.
Examples of this work
- A gate that has stopped latching
- Six pickets after a storm
- A leaning post reset in concrete
Yours not on the list? Text a photograph and I will tell you either way.
