New handles on old cabinets is the cheapest change you can make to a kitchen. Doing it so that all forty of them line up is fiddly, repetitive work, and it is exactly the sort of thing worth handing to somebody else.

What the job involves

Handles and knobs drilled from a jig so every one sits in the same place
Doors that hang crooked, adjusted back to an even gap
Worn or broken hinges replaced, including soft close conversions
Drawer slides repaired or replaced where a drawer drops or sticks
Cabinet doors that will not stay shut, corrected at the hinge rather than with a magnet

Cabinet refacing or refinishing
New cabinet installation
Countertop work of any kind

What it costs

$140 for the first hour, then $100 an hour. A typical kitchen of handles is two to three hours. A handful of hinges fits in the first hour.
